New Yorks Spring 2006 Safe Driving Tips

Spring Ahead!!
Sunday, April 2 is the day we advance the clocks one hour for Daylight Saving Time.

Just like turning the clock back in the fall, moving the clock ahead has the same effects:

Advancing the clock forward affects your body's internal clock. You are likely to be fatigued until your body has adjusted to the time change. Incidences of drowsy driving crashes are much higher during the first weeks following the time changes. Don't forget your sunglasses!!

Studded Snow Tires
Studded snow tires must be removed from your vehicle before May 1. School Buses and vehicles owned by the state or municipalities are exempt from this law.

As warmer weather approaches, more people will be outdoors.
Children will be playing in yards and parks and may be near the street. Watch carefully for them when you are driving.
Bicyclists, in-line skaters and pedestrians will be using the side of the road for bicycling, skating and walking.

Motorcyclists will be on the road.
Motorcycles are smaller than cars and sometimes people fail to see them.
